Glab Lights Up Pot With 12-2 Thrilling Victory Over Maryland In Walk-Off Glory!
The Washington Huskies needed just five innings to take down the Maryland Terrapins in the first installment of their three-game series.
Another day, another run-rule victory for coach Heather Tarr and the Washington Huskies , as they cruised past the Maryland Terrapins 12-2 in five innings. On a frigid night around Seattle, Washington started slow and got behind early as the Terrapins took a 1-0 lead in the first inning courtesy of an RBI double from designated player Anna McGowen, but from that point on, it was all Huskies. Star Alexis DeBoer got the party started with a two-run single as part of a day where she scored a pair of runs and also reached on a walk and a hit by pitch.
She scored one of those runs on the next batter, when third baseman Giselle Alvarez launched her eighth home run of the season, a two-run blast. That brought her to just one shy of her career-best as part of a 2-for-3 day with a walk and a pair of runs scored, which gave the Huskies a 4-1 lead at the end of the second inning. JADYN GLAB CALLED GAME.

With two runners on and nobody out, she sent her fifth home run of the season soaring over the left field fence to finish her day in walk-off fashion, going 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and 4 RBIs. The victory helped starter Sophia Ramuno improve to 6-2 after working 4 innings and allowing 2 runs on 2 hits (the other of which was a solo home run off the bat of first baseman Mariah Penta) with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Aubrey Wurst took the loss for the Terps after she surrendered 4 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks with 2 strikeouts over 1 2/3 innings to drop to 2-4 on the year.
