Duke got there after surviving Florida State, 80-79, and then hammering Clemson on Friday night, 71-63. Virginia defeated NC State on Thursday, 81-74, and smacked Miami, 84-62. It’s going to be an interesting matchup.
Duke handled Virginia in the only meeting between the teams, a 77-51 win for the Blue Devils that was surprisingly easy. It probably won’t be like that this time. Duke is without point guard Caleb Foster and center Pat Ngongba, and both are huge keys to Duke’s success.
Foster’s stats are not huge, but he is a steadying influence on the team and a key part of Duke’s success, especially on defense. He’s been a huge part of Duke’s success. So has Ngongba.
