Davante Adams told Jared Verse that if he wants to get to Maxx Crosby's level, he has to step it up.

Jared Verse and Davante Adams play completely different positions on the football field, but the veteran receiver is doing what he can to help the young pass rusher in any way possible. Adams, whom the Los Angeles Rams signed in free agency last year, quickly became a leader in the locker room and his impact went beyond just the receiver room. During an appearance on Maxx Crosby’s podcast recently , Verse talked about how Adams helped him mentally as he tries to become one of the best edge rushers in football.

“He honestly helped me elevate my game. He’s telling me about you,” Verse said to Crosby. “He’s like, ‘Bro, if you want to get to that next level, like where Maxx is at, you’re going to have to step it up, not even in the way you’re doing stuff, but in your mental approach.

’ His mental approach is different. Physically, you’re doing it, but mentally – and he was telling me all that (expletive). And I’m like, ‘All right, bet.

I know what I’ve got to do. ’” Adams played with Crosby in Las Vegas, so he knows what Mad Maxx is like on the field and off it. Crosby says he and Adams were really close and remain good friends to this day, keeping in touch throughout the season.
