"It's awesome," LC State senior point guard Payton Hymas said. "We get to sleep in our own beds, eat our own breakfast, show up in front of our own crowd. " Hymas conjured March magic in front of an announced attendance of 840 with a game-high 25 points, senior Sitara Byrd delivered a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double and the Warriors brushed off an eight-point first-quarter deficit to extend their season.

With its seniors leading the way, fourth-seeded LC State beat 13th-seeded Hope International 74-65 on Friday at the P1FCU Activity Center in the NAIA Tournament's first round. The Warriors (24-8) will play the fifth-seeded Montana Tech Diggers at 5:30 p. m.
