Brandon Pili’s Streak of Success Lights Up Seattle Seahawks’ Season!
Brandon Pili will get his shot at another Super Bowl title with fellow USC alumni
Former USC defensive lineman Brandon Pili is re-signing with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal worth $2 million. The NFL’s free agency period has been underway for three days now, and the champs have lost more than any other team so far in free agency. Seattle said goodbye to Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker, safety Coby Byrant, linebacker Boye Mafe, and cornerback Tariq Woolen.
Pili is one of five Seattle Seahawks to be retained, as wide receiver Rashid Shaheed and cornerback Josh Jobe headline that list. The hardest part about defending a championship title is retaining all of the players who made it possible. The Seahawks have drafted well and have made great decisions to put them in the position they were in last year.
It seems as though they are trying to do the same thing this offseason. Pili serves as a great depth addition to the defensive line for Seattle. In 13 games last season, Pili managed to post 13 tackles, and when a defensive lineman went down with injury, he stepped in and filled that role.
He may not stuff up the staff sheet, but it is players like Pili that serve a huge amount of value to winning teams. Pili, quarterback Sam Darnold, fellow defensive lineman Leonard Williams, and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu will now all go to battle for another year together in hopes of hoisting another Lombardi trophy at the beginning of February.
