Ole Miss Flies High in Dominant Showdown Against Tornbow's Tragedy!
Alabama head coach Nate Oats shared his thoughts on the Crimson Tide's shocking SEC Tournament loss to Ole Miss on Friday night.
Alabama 's run at the 2026 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament was extremely short lived, as the Crimson Tide fell to the Ole Miss Rebels on Friday night in the quarterfinals, 80-79. In the loss, Alabama fell behind against Ole Miss early in the quarterfinal matchup, and were never able to overcome that deficit in what eventually became a very disappointing evening for the Crimson Tide in Nashville. This included going a combined 9-of-29 (31%) from three-point range, as well as shooting only 41% from the field.
Alabama was also out-rebounded a combined 42-36, struggled defensively, and never led against Ole Miss at any point in the contest, despite entering Friday night as a sizable favorite . Following the loss, Alabama head coach Nate Oats commented on the Crimson Tide's showing against the Rebels, sharing his thoughts on the disappointing showing overall during the opening statement of his postgame press conference . "I've got to give Ole Miss a lot of credit," Oats said.
"I mean, they’re on a run. Coach Beard's coached in the national championship game before. He's a really good coach, knows what he’s doing.
They had a tough regular season. He’s got them together, he's got them playing well. We tried to tell our guys this is a lot different team than what we saw in Oxford.
