Heatwaves Grip NBA as Summer Slam Dunk Showcases Skills!

July will be a sports lover’s dream in Owensboro. The Owensboro-Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau has created the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit to be held on two weekends — July 10-12 and July 17-19. Lucas Daunhauer, the CVB’s sports destination development director, said the Clash will feature baseball, softball, basketball, cornhole, pickleball, bowling, taekwondo, tennis, disc golf, mountain biking, and other events that will be announced soon.

He said, “The Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit will be a celebration of athletic opportunities. We are excited to welcome in a large number of sporting events across these two weekends as a culmination of what Owensboro has become as a sports destination. ” Mark Calitri, CVB president, said, “This is a powerful showcase for our community.

Owensboro keeps earning its reputation as Kentucky’s No. 1 Sports Town and the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit puts that on full display. ” He said, “This is a concept I’ve believed in for several years.

Lucas Daunhauer, who is heading our sports development, has done a tremendous job bringing it to life and working with local and national event planners to make it happen. ” Daunhauer said, “There will be opportunities for all ages and skill-levels in a wide variety of sports across these two weekends. The sporting events coming in are put on by nationally recognized groups who continue to see the value our community has to offer as a sports town; especially as we approach the opening of more state-of-the-art facilities.
