The New York Giants are signing former Miami Dolphins safety Elijah Campbell to one-year deal.

The New York Giants are signing safety Elijah Campbell to a one-year deal, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter . The move adds depth to the secondary, with Campbell primarily valued for his special teams prowess rather than as a regular defensive contributor. Campbell, who turns 31 during the 2026 season, stands at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds.

He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa in 2018 after a college career that included stops at Iowa Western Community College and Northern Illinois. Following a brief time with the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, he spent the last five seasons with the Miami Dolphins, appearing in 68 games (three starts) and establishing himself as a reliable special teams performer. Over his career, he has accumulated 45 total tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, with minimal defensive snaps in recent yearsโ€”only 16 in 2025.

The Giants' secondary underwent changes this offseason, including the loss of safety Dane Belton to the Jets. Campbell joins recently signed safeties Jason Pinnock (re-signed to a one-year deal the same day) and Arโ€™Darius Washington, providing veteran experience on special teams units where he has consistently contributed across all phases. This low-risk addition bolsters roster flexibility as the Giants prepare for the upcoming season.
