Alexander is seen as a great offensive mind with a good eye for talent . That doesn't mean there aren't questions that could prevent him from having success in Manhattan.

There are plenty, as there are with pretty much every coaching hire, and it will be up to Alexander to win big and prove that he was the right choice for Kansas State athletic director Gene Taylor as he takes over a Wildcats program that is starving to get back to the NCAA Tournament after the last era began with so much hope. Here are some of the biggest flaws in Alexander's resume. Casey Alexander's lack of postseason tournament titles stands out The most glaring part of Alexander's resume is the lack of NCAA Tournament appearances, especially given that he had none at Belmont.

To be fair, the Bruins won the Ohio Valley tourney in 2020 before March Madness was canceled because of the pandemic. If you count that as a tournament appearance, he would only have two in 15 years in one-bid leagues. In his final four years at Belmont, the Bruins made it out of the Arch Madness quarterfinals just once.

After entering this year's tournament as the No. 1 seed, Belmont was one-and-done, suffering a major quarterfinal upset to the league's nine-seed. Alexander has been one-and-done in a conference tournament four times across 14 conference tournaments.
