New Headline: "Coach Veesaar's Stellar Showcasing Elevates Carolina's Cheerful Climate
Henri Veesaar breaks down his 28-point, 17-rebound night, UNC’s aggressive approach and what must change after an 80-79 ACC loss to Clemson.
Henri Veesaar , along with Hubert Davis , spoke to the media after North Carolina's 80-79 loss to Clemson in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday in Charlotte. Veesaar posted a dominant double-double with 28 points and 17 rebounds, both game highs. He also added two assists and two blocks.
Here is the full transcript of what he said on the podium. Henri, it felt like you made about six threes toward the end of the game. Bring me into the way that you played on the outside, trusting in your shot and getting this team from what was an 18-point deficit down to one?
HENRI VEESAAR: We were just playing as a team, just trying to be aggressive. I know they played long possessions so we had to do quick offense because otherwise the clock was going to run out before we could get there. Yeah, just really trying to be aggressive, trying to get the best shot, get an early shot and then fight as hard as we can for offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, trying to just get us back into the game.
Because obviously we dug ourselves in a big hole in the second half, first half, so we had to kind of -- we played desperate but we play good when we're desperate. I think we're going to keep that mindset when we go into the next games and into March. Henri, how has your role changed without Caleb (Wilson) obviously being the No.
