Breaking News: Philly Eagles Eye Undrafted Talent in Pro Bowl Guard Spot!
The Philadelphia Eagles could be pursuing one of the Minnesota Vikings' best pass rushers this offseason.
Last week, Adam Schefter reported that the Minnesota Vikings were "open" to trading EDGE rusher Jonathan Greenard. Although the team didn't necessarily want to part ways with him, the Vikings weren't willing to meet Greenard's contract demands for a pay raise. Since then, reports have circulated about several contending teams overpaying for Greenard's services.
On Wednesday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Philadelphia Eagles have inquired about Greenard. The Philadelphia Eagles have had lines in to both Trey Hendricksonโs camp as well as Minnesota regarding Jonathan Greenard. Weโll see what Howie Roseman decides to do after the Ravens take Hendrickson off the board.
The Baltimore Ravens signed Hendrickson on Wednesday, taking the top EDGE rusher off the market. That made Greenard more attractive, especially after the Maxx Crosby trade fell through . ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said the Vikings' asking price for Greenard "will likely involve a Day 2 pick .
" The Eagles own the 54th overall pick, five slots after the Vikings in the second round. Would Minnesota be able to get more than that for Greenard, who is only two years removed from a 12-sack season? Or would they try to command more as the rest of the EDGE market dries up?
