Kyle Daukaus was all set to fight at UFC 327 – until Hunter Campbell came calling and asked to cancel his fight.

It's been a hectic and highly-spotlighted series of events for Kyle Daukaus, but he remains a "chill guy. " Daukaus (17-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) was announced as one of 12 fighters set to compete at UFC Freedom 250, the promotion's June 14 event at the White House in Washington, as he takes on Bo Nickal (8-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC). "When they announced it on Saturday, my phone went crazy," Daukaus said.

"Everything went crazy. It's been crazy ever since. " Originally, Daukaus was scheduled to fight Vicente Luque at UFC 327 on April 11.

However, the promotion later announced Kelvin Gastelum would replace him. Daukaus said his removal sent some supporters into a tizzy, thinking he was injured. However, Daukaus said it was nothing of the sort.

UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell specifically sought out his services, wanting them enough to pull Daukaus from the fight – a rare move by the UFC. "I had a missed call from my manager (a couple weeks ago)," Daukaus said. "So I called him back, and he was like, 'Yo, Hunter Campbell wants to talk with you.
