Seahawks Surge with '26-Man' Offensive Assault to Reignite 2023!
The men who will lead the Seahawks are all in place
The Seattle Seahawks are the reigning Super Bowl champions, and they will begin their title defense campaign with a coaching staff that remained shockingly un-plundered from the rest of the league. Yes, Seattle lost offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who became the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. That is a considerable departure, but one that could potentially be mitigated by the hire of Brian Fleury as his replacement .
Fleury comes from the Shanahan system as well, and he represents Seattle's desire for continuity on the offensive side of the ball. Seattle also managed to keep defensive coordinator Aden Durde, who was drawing interest from around the league. While head coach Mike Macdonald calls the plays, keeping Durde in the fold will also ensure the Seahawks' defense shouldn't have any significant regression in 2026.
But perhaps the best retention was offensive line coach John Benton , who did not follow Kubiak and quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko down to Sin City. Also staying in Seattle is run game coordinator Justin Outten. As a former offensive coordinator, keeping his insight and knowledge with the Seahawks is crucial.
While Seattle kept plenty of key coaches, they did not rest on their laurels and went out to hire some fresh faces. Among the newly hired coaches was Thomas Hammock to be their new running backs coach. Hammock was the head coach at Northern Illinois and was receiving plenty of NFL interest before choosing the Seahawks.
