Round 3 Players tee times: What you need to know With a double bogey to finish the opening round at one over, Jordan Spieth was just as likely to worry about the cut on Friday as he has to get into contention. But it was the latter reality that came true. Spieth fought off a bogey on his first hole in Round 2 , then drained seven birdies, including five in a row at the turn, to charge into contention at the Players Championship.

Spieth will surely head into Saturday's third round at TPC Sawgrass with designs on a huge comeback victory to cement his hot start to the season. We won't know exactly when the three-time major champ will tee off on Saturday until Round 2 is complete Friday night. After that, the cut will be made and players will be organized into pairings for Round 3.
