Now that we’ve established who some of the names BC could be looking at are, BCI is going to do some more in-depth profiles for some of those names. We begin with Luke Murray, whose name has been linked to not just the BC job but also that of Providence and Syracuse. According to his boss, Dan Hurley, the UConn assistant is more than prepared for a head coaching gig of his own.

Could BC be his next stop? Murray began his coaching career in 2008 at Post University. He has since made stops at Arizona, Wagner, Towson, Rhode Island, Xavier, and Louisville prior to arriving at UConn.

He signed a three-year contract extension with the Huskies in 2024, and he reportedly makes around $800,000 per year. He’s 40 years old and originally from the Northeast. Why he’d be interested: Murray has never held a head coaching position.

4 million dollars in 2024-2025. Assuming Murray’s $800,000 figure is roughly correct, he’d be tripling his salary (and Boston College may be able to pony up some additional money if they feel Murray is absolutely the right guy; look at the O’Brien hire). Beyond the money, the BC job is less than 2 hours away from UConn.
